Month to Go is a free, informational travel-planning tool. It suggests when to visit each country and what a trip might roughly cost. It sells nothing, books nothing and is not affiliated with any airline, hotel or booking service.
Flight times are estimated nonstop air time from your chosen start city, rounded to the nearest half hour. Very long routes may require a connection, which adds time. Actual schedules vary by airline, season, routing and winds.
The travel windows are general guidance for weather and headline events. Regional differences inside large countries are noted where they matter, but local conditions vary; a window being “open” is not a promise of good weather. Click a country row on the year board for the reasoning behind each window.
Budget figures are ballpark, per person, shown in your start city’s currency — or any currency you pick from the selector — at fixed approximate exchange rates: a return economy fare shown as an off-peak-to-peak range, a mid-range room with two sharing, and a daily allowance for food, entry fees and getting around. Safari lodges, gorilla permits, ski passes, festivals and school-holiday dates push costs well above these figures. Real prices depend on when and where you book, and the built-in conversions are indicative only — never a live exchange rate.
The multi-stop planner chains several destinations into one itinerary. Its flight figures are one-way, leg-by-leg estimates derived from distance, and they are rougher than the single-trip ranges: real multi-city and one-way fares vary more than returns, and no airline, alliance routing or stopover pricing is consulted. The “months that suit every stop” line is a simple overlap of each destination’s typical windows, not a guarantee of weather. Treat every multi-stop total strictly as a planning number, and check live fares before booking.
Alongside countries, the planner offers a small number of city or regional destinations (for example Miami, California, Milan and Kyoto). These are priced from their own arrival airport with their own typical costs and seasons, which can differ from the wider country’s figures. The same estimate caveats apply.
An account is optional and free. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, give us a real email address, and use one account per person. Your plans and notes remain yours; you give us only the permission needed to store them and show them to you, to contributors you invite, and to anyone holding a read-only share link you created. Do not put unlawful, abusive or other people’s private content in trip notes.
Collaboration works the way the buttons say: the plan’s owner decides. A contributor with “Editing permission granted” changes the plan directly; one who is “Subject to approval” submits suggestions the owner can approve or reject, one by one or all together. Owners can change a contributor’s permission or remove them at any time, and removal is immediate. A read-only share link shows the plan to anyone who has the link, without an account, until the owner switches it off.
We may suspend or delete accounts that abuse the service (bulk scraping, spam invitations, attempts to break in) and, as a small free service, we may need to change or retire account features — where reasonably possible with notice on this page. You can export your plan as a printable summary at any time, and delete your account yourself on the account page.
